action at rainbow!

There were 6 HGs and 4-5 pgs out to day. Bruce, Sara and Steve showed up early and they had great flights launching from the middle launch and got up pretty high. Mike and ken launch from the lower launch and they had great flight as well got up pretty high benched up to the top. I launch from the bottom launch at about 2 pm and had a good flight couldn?t get up to the top but had a fun flight I think all of us had about hour flights! Dad (Billy) launched half hour after I did and it was too light for him to get up he scratched and tried to bench up but didn?t make it think he had about 1/2 hour flight. The PGers had fun, we were watching I think coco do some acro from the park so they all had great flight as well. Soaring deep into the evening:D

Considering it's the middle of winter, it was beautiful day to be out flying. I was still flying over large snow patches to the North of Rainbow summit, but it was about 45-50F.

The wind was a bit light when Steve and I got to the lower launch, so we went another 1/2 mile up the road to the middle launch which is about 200-300 feet higher. A nice launch, and the wind was about 5mph higher. It's also positioned right over what seems to be the house thermal.

We landed in the park in the middle of Coldsprings - the nicest LZ you can imagine, and then had dinner in the new Pizzaria next to the park (you can see them both just to the right of Alex in the photo above).

Rainbow is working well this year, I've had 4 good flights and over 6 hours in the air. One of these days we're going to get up and fly the whole range. Looks like it will be working again Sunday.

Rainbow was working good again, today. Billy, Alex, Brian, and myself soared from the lower launch. Everyone had a good flight and Brian made it to the park for the first time. It was my first flight for the year and it was a great way to start things off.
